So the other week we tried to take some pictures of this family and guess what, the weather decided to snow. It was crazy cold, so we decided after 15 min to call it a day and try another time. Well here are just a few of my favorites that we got in the 15 min.

Family Photography {Rexburg Idaho}
At the begging of this week I thought it was going to start to slow down so I could catch up on all the blog posts that I haven't done yet. Then I got a few calls this week and looks like we are going to be busy right up to the point when we leave for Oregon. I'm getting excited to leave Rexburg to get away from the cold but then my parents were telling me that they're getting freezing rain in the Oregon valley. Oh well at least I am used to the cold.
Here is some more pictures of a cute family that we took a week ago or so. That was a crazy Saturday. We had their shoot in the morning, another one at noon, and then a wedding reception in the evening.

Couples Photography {Rexburg Idaho}
So it is starting to snow more and more, and get really cold here in Rexburg. I think this particular day it was something like 5 degrees outside. Yeah cold. Anyway this family is was fun to take their pictures and I am amazed at people ready to take off their jackets for the pictures. I love the winter look in these pictures.

Jeannette & Brandt {Family Photographers Rexburg ID}
So here is the rest of Jeannette and Brandt's photos from their session the other day. I am running off of five hours of sleep, so I don't really know what to type. I think it is so hard when your wife and kids leave you at home by your self. I am so used to them around, that our house seems so empty. That's probably why I stayed up was late last night. Because Michelle wasn't there to say go to bed.
Anyways, enough of me rambeling on about myself. Here are the pictures, which is of course the real reason you're on here.

Claire & Micheal Family Photography {Rexburg Idaho}
So this last Saturday we were able to take pictures Micheal and Claire's family. They were so fun, and so nice. It was snowing outside, that's how it always seems to go in Rexburg, and we still got some great shots.
Can you tell that it was cold outside?
Before I took real pictures with these two, I asked them to make the silliest face they could. They were so cute.

Cold Weather Dressing Tips
With the weather turning colder there are some things you can do to keep a little warmer during the shoots. Here are some tips to have a more pleasant portrait photographing experience out in the cold.
Dress warm - Certain coats can look bulky and not make cute photographs, but others can look very nice for photographs - especially pea coats or coats that don't have brand naming written all over them or the sleeves. If anything, we can try a few without and then when its too cold we can take some with coats/beanies on. You may be surprised with how cute they turn out.
Layer - Long johns, or long sleeved onsies for the kids, work great! They are thermals that are meant to help keep your body heat close to your body and they have the added bonus of being compact so you don't have added bulkiness to pictures. Make sure to layer underneath sweaters. Throw on a cute scarf or jacket. The more layers the warmer you'll be.
Bring a blanket - Wrap your little ones up in a blanket in between shots to keep them warm. We shoot at multiple backdrops, so we can use a blanket while we are walking or moving around. I would suggest a blanket you wouldn't mind putting on a ground, so not a favorite.
Warm up in the car - If the kids are getting grumpy (or yourselves) because of the weather, don't hesitate to stop the shoot to warm up in the car for a minute or two.
If you are done, let us know - We are happy to keep shooting as long as you are. When you think you've had enough of the cold, don't be afraid to tell us. We are very flexible with our session allotment, especially during the winter months. The odds are we were still able to get some amazing pictures in, or we can re-schedule another quick session to try again for another (hopefully warmer) day.
Hope those tips help! We're excited to be working with you!

Bree and David {Engagement Rexburg Idaho Photography}
This last Saturday I was able to take some engagement pictures out at Monkey Rock. Monkey Rock is near Rexburg but I would say it is more like Sugar City area. Basically it is a little swimming hole with a water fall. It is basically out in the middle of no where so we got some wonderful pictures out in the beautiful Idaho country. This was the first time I really tried to do some silly shots, which I think turned out really fun.
I also tried my luck with a panoramic of the water fall. Photoshop merged it and I think it did a great job. Even with running water.
