Update: We are offering this special for free newborn and maternity sessions at least for the first 5-7 bookings, but we may extend the special further depending on our schedule. We already have a few set up since yesterday (thanks everyone!), so if you would like to take advantage of the special contact us as soon as you can. Thanks!
Also, I apologize for not giving more information of what we are looking for with the newborn photo shoot is. We are hoping to get pictures of babies that are 2 weeks or less, but no older than 3 weeks. We have taken pictures of infants that are a few months old, but wanted to build up more pictures of tiny babies for our portfolio. If your baby is over the 3 weeks age (1 month) we do still do individual and family photography and are willing to negotiate over pricing to fit with your budget... so contact us and let us know the price range you were hoping for and we can work it out together.
We now have our pricing information posted. We have a rough page layout where you can view various portfolio examples now of engagements, families, weddings and children. James is getting very close to finishing our website, which will do a much better job with various galleries to showcase our work - but until that is finished we have these examples available for you to get a quick peek at our photography portfolio.
We also have a special deal going on right now for all maternity and newborn portrait sessions. The first few we book will be absolutely FREE. You read that right - FREE OF CHARGE. This special is for newborn babies that are 4 weeks and under.
So contact us (mr.rognon@rognonphotography.com or michelle@rognonphotography.com) or leave a comment if you are interested in any of the shoots. Thanks!

Opening up Photo Sessions for Spring
The weather in Rexburg is still not the most predictable, but we are starting up photo sessions for Spring now that the weather has been a little tamer.
We still would like to test out the new lighting, but currently we have openings on Fridays and Saturdays. Our morning session will be at 10:00, and our evening session will begin at around 5:30 or 6:00.
We will be updating our pricing and will be putting that information up soon. If you have any questions or would like to book a photo session with us leave a comment or email me at mr.rognon@rognonphotography.com.
Thanks.

For my multimedia class we just finished our second assignment. It was a dynamic flash slide show which was supposed to demonstrate an activity that occurs here at BYU-Idaho. The class was divided into groups and my group decided to highlight "Music Outlet." Music Outlet is a show that happens every Monday night and gives students an opportunity to share some music that they have written. I ended up taking all the pictures that was used in this slide show.
Go to this link and you can see the slide show.
Here are some two of the 60 pictures I took.

Another Contest
This week at BYU-Idaho, in the Photographic society. This contest was an environmental portrait contest. An environmental portrait is a picture interacting with their environment. I had a lot of fun shooting these pictures. I have to say thank you to Michelle and Jack, because I think that I took the most pictures with them. All of these pictures were unedited in photoshop, which means what you see is what I took at the time.
This is a picture that I caught of Jack while he was eating. As you can see he gets really excited.
Michelle was kind enough to pose for me one night with a candle. I thought it was pretty fun to shoot in the dark and try and use the light to make a little more dramatic effect. We happened to have left our tripod out in Oregon, so I had to shoot this by hand. It was hard to get it without being blurred because the exposure time needed to be a little longer. I think it worked out fairly well. By the way, this picture won the second place in the student choice awards. But the real contest is later.
For my multimedia production class, we were required to make a slide show on a school event. My group choose to do Music Outlet. We were required to go out there and take a ton of pictures for our slide show. This was one of the performers, and unfortunately I didn't get his name.
Next week they announce the winners so we will see then.
